"Petals and Shadows"
My mural for Look Up Festival in Portsmouth, UK, comes with a different story this time. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I couldn’t paint it myself.

For the second time, my UK visa was rejected, and where I come from often leads to my art and intentions being questioned. Normally, my work spreads positive messages, but this time, I wanted to express my frustration with borders. What does a border really mean, and why does it limit us?

As many of you may know, I’ve been painting with Stijn for the past four years, and I’m incredibly grateful to him for stepping in. Stijn is a music producer who had never painted a wall before we met, and now he’s able to paint an entire wall by himself and make sure the message was heard.

Even though I couldn’t be there in person, my voice is in every brushstroke, a reminder that art transcends borders, even if the world doesn’t.
A big thank you to Angela, Andy, @portsmouthuni , Smiley Pete, and the entire team for supporting Stijn throughout this process ❤️💥
