is an Indonesian saying that means ‘Far from sight, close to our hearts.’
It describes the feeling of my latest mural Stijn and I created at @luce.fest in San Pietro Magisano, a small village in Southern Italy with just 350 friendly residents. The people at San Pietro are incredibly warm and welcoming, and their kindness knows no bounds.
Romano, the wall’s owner, and the neighbors were incredibly sweet and supportive. Romano, in particular, went the extra mile by assisting me in taking final photos in front of the wall. He’s truly the sweetest!
This mural, the wonderful people, and the charming village have etched a lasting impression in my heart. Just like the mural’s title suggests, ‘Jauh di mata, dekat di hati,’ even though we had to say goodbye, these memories will forever hold a special place in my heart ❤️
