In August this year, I had the opportunity to paint at the 2022 Ibug Festival in Flöha, Germany. The festival is located in an old paper mill that has been abandoned for years. The festival hosts more than 20 artists from all over the world. I'm so excited to be a part of this cool festival! Here I will show you my experimental mural process. Enjoy!
The factory building is massive! It took me 4 hours to walk around looking for the perfect place. You will see tons of paper strewn around the building and artists can use them to create art. The festival team gives the artist total freedom for what we plan to create. So when I looked and found my place, I knew I wanted to make a mural and combine it with something I found at the factory.
Setting up the work place and choosing the colour.
And the mural process begin....
I’m really glad I came ibug, to paint and especially to meet all the amazing artists and the team. This work really comes from my heart showing the freedom I got and to experiment for what’s available in the area at that moment.
Thank you very much @ibug.art for welcoming me and @wanitapagihari at the site, for giving us freedom, for the space, the foods, the everything.. it’s one of the most memorable festivals I’ve been🔥
